How Can I Get Family Solutions
Implemented in My Area?
If you are located within an hour of the Athens-Clarke County, GA area, our trained FSP group leaders can implement FSP in your area! Our trained leaders can offer programs in local schools, churches, community centers, and DJJ facilities.
For those interested in FSP outside of the Athens area, the developers of the Family Solutions Program offer training and ongoing support to assist professionals in Departments of Juvenile Justice, human service agencies, schools, and youth-serving organizations in developing, implementing, and coordinating the FSP in their community. The FSP developers offer two days of on-site training at the location of your choice.
Family Solutions is proven to be a cost-effective alternative to family and individual therapy. Since legal guardians and siblings over the age of six are asked to attend the program, the cost-effectiveness of the program is based upon ten families, with three people in each family. For twenty hours of group counseling, the cost per person is eighty-four dollars for the ten week group cycle. When broken down even further, the cost is approximately four dollars per person per hour of counseling. In addition to being cost-effective, by reaching non-offending siblings, the Family Solutions model is preventive, serving as an additional protective factor for these youth who may also be at-risk.
