The Family Solutions Program was initiated in 1993 as a prevention/early
intervention approach to reducing juvenile crime. Juvenile first-offenders
referred to the Family Solutions Program from the court have been
tracked until they reach the age of 18 to determine re-offense rates.
The program graduates, those who complete the 10 week program, have
an almost 20% lower recidivism rate than first-offenders from the
same court who have been referred to the program.
Of 590 children that graduated, 449
did not recidivate and 141 recidivated.

Of 254 children that did not graduate, 145
did not recidivate and 109 recidivated.
